Interiors

Before your Conservatory, Orangery or Garden Room is installed you should consider the interior.

Some people like to talk to an interior designer and we offer a full service once you have placed your order for your Conservatory or Orangery. Others enjoy planning the interior themselves rather than calling in the professionals! Either way these are the aspects you will need to think about:

Floors: “You can enhance the feeling of space and flow by installing the same flooring throughout your downstairs living area. It leads the eye on and ensures the conservatory feels part of the rest of the house.” Excellent advice from the Daily Telegraph Property Section July 24th 2010. You will need to let the builder know the floor levels before he starts as this can vary according to the depth of the flooring finish you have chosen. Many clients are tending to favour underfloor heating in their Orangery or Conservatory, clearly this will have an impact on the flooring options available to you. “If space is tight and radiators are going to take up too much room, consider under floor heating instead. More expensive to install, but cheaper to run.” More good advice from the Telegraph (as above).

We are happy to advise.

Lighting: You should discuss what lighting system you are intending to use in your Conservatory or Orangery. Our designers will be able to discuss the main options but the actual fittings are a matter of taste and budget.

Conservatory Blinds and/or window film: We offer pinoleum, roller or pleated blinds for the roof and sides, which are the more traditional, colour co-ordinated choice. Window film is another option – providing a more contemporary look.

Furniture: If you know what furniture you are intending to use in your Conservatory, Orangery or Garden Room then let us know so we can design your building with that in mind. Most department stores have good ranges of Conservatory, Orangery or Garden Room furniture  but there are specialists in this field that we can introduce you to once we understand the look and use you wish to achieve. Maybe you would like your furniture bespoke or custom made – again we can help.

Plants: If you would like to grow exotic plants you should consider an in-ground bed – again the builder will need to know before he starts work. Our Conservatory and Orangery plant expert received a Gold Medal at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2010 – her friendly advice and expertise is invaluable however modest your planting plans may be.
